I found it amazing that the release of CFC's into the atmosphere today continued to effect ozone depletion for 30 years. The idea that one free chlorine atom could continuously break apart the ozone layer for such a length of time was surprising.
I wonder how many wonderful, conveniences of today are having huge effects on the atmosphere like CFC's did 30 years ago? It is amazing that we are still trying to recover from something that seems so far in the past--I don't even think the students in my class would know what I was talking about when I say "CFC".
This presentation should make us more aware of the things that we do today. If we can effect something for 30 years by what we are doing today then we need to act swiftly and try and correct the issue.
